Cats can only convert from MicroStation to AutoCAD or AutoCAD to MicroStation. It cannot convert from 3D to 2D in the same format. You can convert from 3D to 2D changing formats. However, Cats does not support many of the higher level 3D entities, such as surfaces and solids.
